I'm 5600ish pages into Homestuck. This is the second time I'm reading; the first time, I was in middle school. Good god I forgot what an undertaking reading/playing this THING is. I really hate how some media consumes me. All of my headspace is filled up by this comic. This sounds really dumb but with big things like this comic and videogames, for like a week all allocated brain space is filled with said media. And then for a few months it still sticks around pretty hard until it peters off eventually. This cycle really sucks. Why can't I consume media slowly? Why do I stick around in online spaces that I hate? Is this a zoomer moment or an undisciplined moment? Both??? Why do the majority of my hobbies include looking at things up close GLUB 38(((!!!

also Aranea is my favorite troll and the chess piece guys are my favorite race. :)

Yeah I feel this. First read it up until about, I wanna say the beginnings of everything that led up to the Carnevale flash when I was 14, then read the whole thing again to completion around 17.

I'm kinda on the same brainwave where if I like something I go all in on it. Found a good fic? Shotgun it in a night so you're all caught up and stuck waiting. Found a good series? Binge the whole damn thing and look up some theory videos. It always, inevitably, goes from me loving it to me overanalyzing it, noticing like 50 glaring plotholes and hating it (exceptions are REALLY consistent series) It's a little bit more sustainable with games like Dragonfable where the development cycle takes a while so me going ballistic for a month then ignoring it for a year or two meant there was enough content to come back to.

Homestuck is a good story at it's core, I think. A million things to criticize for sure but there's a primal monkey part in our brains that saw them combining random household objects into legendary weapons with alchemy to fight monsters that goes "REAL SHIT!?" each page. If you're this far in, finish it.

Also those are good favorites.
