Lion Guard Pointillism

Share

So I saw everyone was doing the Mona Lisa, Creation of Adam, Van Gogh, or Tim Burton style swaps. I even saw some taking the impressionist approach to their works, which was my original idea. So I tried to be unique and realized I have never seen a pointillism image in one of Jazza's contests before. Dots of color that trick the eye into seeing colors that aren't actually there, it's really cool. And I saw people doing Rick and Morty or the Simpsons, but I didn't see a lion king picture. I was going to depict a scene from the movie done in pointillism, but I wanted to be more original. So I went with the spin off, The Lion Guard, instead, using the main character Kion and his hyena friend Jasiri as the focus. My original idea tanked when I realized my pointillism wasn't working and my characters were awful. Unfortunately, that's where my WIP is because I forgot to get one of the remade project. Pointillism is rather difficult. Before I was doing the dots by had and things were far too inconsistent to accomplish it's goal. So I found a custom skin textured brush, which made a spotted look. The outlines are the only things not dots, simply because there is so much yellow here that it all blends together without it. None of the colors here were used as the actual color except gray, everything else comes from yellow and reds or reds and blues. I'm pretty proud of this ^^
