Heya!

So every year I'll be making a new self portrait. (I also just kind of really like portraits but this is the first one I've done of myself. haha.. Mary sums it up perfectly, it feels narcissistic.)
This is a piece I feel is better in person. I added stitching because there's a trend in art that you aren't supposed to touch it, it makes you feel very disconnected to how the artist feels about the work and separates you from the art. So I wanted to break that.
I also wanted to challenge the idea of mixed media art. How far can you go with it still being part of one category? Is this a painting or a textile? Neither... it's mixed media

I used Winsor and Newton water color, no name watercolor pencils, and stitched details with basic embroidery thread.
