This is the first "official" Slashfic Singles comic strip. I've had these characters for the longest time but this is the first time I've put them in a chronological thing that people can actually read hahahah. Slashfic is a cartoon DIY band that lives in LA. They play shows sometimes but they mostly listen to music and drink coffee at diners. Look out for more glimpses of these color coded twentysomethings shredding bass and hanging out..!

I've been messing around these characters since fall 2018, and for the longest time, had this whole multi issue comic arc written and planned revolving around Marcy Pepper, the she/they in the middle with the blue hair. Last Winter i started drawing the first issue of this comic, and finished a technically readable 'first draft' of it, and kind of realized.. i didn't love it, hahah. The themes I had focused on when writing it were just problems i had grown past now, and felt bad staying in. While i still want to be able to do something with all that eventually, I knew I wasn't going to be able to make multiple comic zines on my own about something I didn't wanna think about anymore. With this new "Singles" form, I wanted to repivot "Slashfic" to focusing on the actual band, Slashfic. I'm friends with a lot of people in DIY bands and generally am pretty invested in the modern DIY music scene, I want to be able to put that into the comic through shorter, character-building "singles" like this one. Think of this as the band's first hit single!
