I believe I spent like 6 hours working on this and I am so proud of it! I've been meaning to redesign Spade the Hedgehog for a long time and now I finally did it! Introducing Spade the... Porcupine! Yes, he's a porcupine now, not a hedgehog. He's got more quills, sharper quills, longer quills, and 3 quills on his back (like Movie Sonic). He still has that ring on his left ear, but now also has rings for bracelets on his wrists and legs. Updated his shoes and gloves to be less of an eyesore, and also gave him different kicks in general. He essentially has the Soap shoes from SA2 crossed with the Light Speed Shoes from SA1. Thought this looked neat. Also gave him a bandana because I'd thought it would look nice on him. As for the sunglasses, he's always had those, I've just never drawn him with it really. And his guitar is brand new as well, no longer being Sonic's guitar from Sonic Underground. Now, it's a standard Red electric guitar, with chaos emerald colored tuners (the emeralds from Sonic 1).

As for character lore, he is no longer Sonic's cousin. Now he's just an old friend of Sonics. He is still a rock star and is also 18-years-old now, not 15 anymore. He can run a lot faster now and is even skilled in hand-to-hand combat. His spinball attack is a lot sharper and he can even shoot his quills out for a projectile attack. He can also produce a small sound wave from his guitar, but when his guitar his powered by the 6 chaos emeralds (Sonic 1), it powers up and can produce a mega sound wave, capable of knocking people back and maybe even knock out. But, even with the capability to fight, he's a chill dude and only does it for self defense.

If you're wondering why I made this now, the inspiration just suddenly hit me and I had to draw it today. This was also another thing for Art Fight (getting my profile cleaned up). Enjoy!
