An art piece I made for the Jazza contest. After the movie, The Haunting, I've always felt the need to see more of Eleanor and her childrens' ascension. I didn't really want a religious feel to the artwork but rather a feeling of relief for Eleanor as in the story she was an insomniac so closing her eyes seemed more appropriate. As for the children, I wanted to show them as being welcomed and loved by Eleanor as well as from above. This movie is very close to me as it's my first memory of a horror movie or rather the first horror movie I always think of. I've been drawing for most of my life so I'd say I have a pretty good experience with drawing, but an artwork or illustration is still something I'm working on.
And just in case you want to know, I used oil pastel sticks for the majority of the piece and a brown ink pen for the small details of it.
Thank you and have a nice day.
Also, here is my draft. I hope this provides proof.
