(2014)
The Big Guy himself.
As far as the Trendmasters redesigns go, Godzilla was merely a stylized Heisei-era Godzilla. But I believe Godzilla was sort of a blend of Godzilla 1989 and 1991, then beefed up in a '90s comic book fashion.
I looked to four figures to capture the design - the 10-inch figure for that muscular physique; the "Nuclear" Godzilla for the turned pose; the 6-inch "Atomic Plasma Eyes" for the facial features (and the eyes, of course); and as homage to my very first Godzilla toy, the standard 4-inch figure for how he's posing his hands.
As for the recolor, it was inspired by the lighter shade of plastic the Doom Island figure has (which was then darkened with a blackwash), but people assumed it was in reference to the KOTM box art, where he's that more "comic dinosaur" green. Makes sense. Though the way my art turned out here, it feels "backwards", like this is a younger depiction rather than a heavily irradiated beast (more than usual, anyway) like the others are. Maybe this is how he appeared in the '50s under the TM timeline, then as he aged, he naturally grew into the darker green.
