There are some ideas that I was going to utilize from way back - those "worm" tentacles around the shoulders were merely from an old doodle I once did; I'm not entirely sure how they'd function in an evolutionary sense, but it looked really cool. I can imagine seeing this thing slithering along and have every one of those extremities flailing about.

I was wanting to go full-on WAR OF THE WORLDS Martian by having everything come in threes with him, but I felt that having three long tentacles made things too complicated (especially since it would have had the smaller tendrils). But definitely the selling point for me was the three faces. Seeing as how one of their abilities is to assimilate other Virases and grow, I thought having this look would make it look more hideous. Plus, I've heard a few jabs about the "banana peel" head, and I felt this kinda justifies the look.

I also wanted to work "V" into the design here and there. Even the eyes - each eye has a V-shaped pupil. While it's simple fluff, I feel the symbol could hold some kind of significance to their race, but we humans aren't important enough to be informed of it.
