This is something I worked on for a while...I figure the best way to get rid of bad emotions sometimes is to express them. This goes deep through into my past...it illustrates my feelings at some times where I felt truly hopeless. I felt I had no future for myself and everything had gone horribly, horribly wrong...The main idea of the drawing is that it shows how I felt like I was sinking and no matter how violently I pushed, no matter how much effort I put in, I couldn't move back to the surface.
The stitched eyes are there to symbolise how I felt as I couldn't see anything in my future. It symbolises being blinded and oblivious to all but the here and now...and even that remains a little blurred. The heart is there to show...well...love, but I deliberately didn't go for the cliche bright red heart - I wanted to show the more gruesome side of things and how even something used to symbolise such an important and identifying human emotion has it's downsides. Love can be dark, short-sighted and ultimately unattractive, and I think the true form of the human heart helps to show this...

A lot of people will probably not like my...'sketchy' style. But any comments are welcome.
