Tilda Beaufort v1.4

Share

I have finally made up my mind. Instead of having 4-5 rolls, I have it narrowed down to 3. First, there is the "builder" class, able to create items useful for the team. Next, is the "demolitions expert", using such tools, including explosives. Finally, there is the "tank-type", using powerful weapons and armor, at the cost of speed.

I gave Terri back her "rocket launcher" and the ramset is now a solitary weapon. In place of it is the "Hotchkiss Universal SMG". Folds away, making for more sense when having two guns, it is French like Tilda and it's accuracy/power won't overshadow the kiln gun. Also, it reminds me of the M3 "Grease Gun", hence the name.

Finally, the demo deck is more precise now. Plus, the bomb and remote are based on real life "shaped demolition charges" and a little suitcase-like remote control.

-----------

Tilda: the muscle of the team, but also the woman. Now, I don't mean in the stereotypical way of being the big dumb ugly type, tomboy style or the lesbian one. Rather, it is based on how females are expected to be weak and if they aren't, then they also won't be feminine. She is a super strong in the weightlifter way, having 'real' strength, rather than for looks - another stereotype. Hence why she has a 'fat' look, rather than toned muscles. Irregardless, she is likely the most 'feminine' of the team. Except for cooking, she isn't good at that. What she is good at is machinery, metalwork, construction and demolition. She prefers to 'build up' people, rather than 'knock down' people, unless someone relentlessly does so, then she will break them down.

Also, didn't know how to include this: she is French-Canadian, based on the stereotypes of the French easily giving up and French women being very feminine. She is hardy while still feminine. Her surname even means "beautiful fortress".

Previous updates:

Not much of an update, but still one none the less. The breaker bar seemed kind of boring and I wanted to add a lift/grab/grapple/throw function for her, so I added it to that. Hence the added lifting gloves. At the same time, I didn't want to remove the bar. The name was just too good. Plus, gloves/fists on their own are also boring, plus too common and typical to be creative for her type of character.

While I was at it, also made a few changes to the "Demolisher's Deck". Felt it made the "Homewrecker" already function like a grenade launcher for the HPC to also act like one. So, I made the firework rockets "stick" on contact with whatever they contacted, then exploding after a short, quick timed fuse. Sort of like a cross of "sticky bombs" and timed grenades, launched as rockets. The best example I can think of is TF2's "Iron Bomber", but with the straight flight path of rockets. Also, it sticks to enemies. Finally, I changed the remote bomb. It is now a building demolition grade explosive. Since having the HPC with it makes for a pseudo sticky bomb launcher, there is now only one at a time. Got rid of some redundancy while adding a function that sounds like it would be fun yet balanced in a game.

------

The original "Machinist's Gun" just didn't feel right for some reason. Guessing it had to do with the fact it was based on a big, heavy, large gauge and most of all, single-shot gun. Way too impractical and unlikely, even when compared to her custom built "Homewrecker". So, I looked up real shotguns and found a French shotgun that fits the bill. The first kiln shotguns where just regular shotguns until purpose-built ones were made. This one, a Verney-Carron Speedline, is a semi-auto, but the bolt must be released after each shot. This can make it useful for getting around any restrictive auto shotgun laws. However, semi-autos can be converted. This one has been converted to a kiln gun (for removing slag stuck to the inside walls of hot, still active metal kilns.)
