Another drawing of a design I am working on for a character in a comic I'd like to create.

I'd appreciate any comments as to the effectiveness of the design. I'd also appreciate any suggestions for names.

Good and solid

~~REVIEW~~
Hmm now this was something interesting, it has some dark color tones wich is ok, the {CHARACTER} is well drawn and seems to be in a running pose, my only issue with any of this would probably have to be the backround, as it seemed to not match with the element of running, it does however match in design and color, so with that aside, why dont you make a backround that shows him really running more like wind and line stripes showing that may help and represent a running style more. kinda like a warp feel, everything else was pretty good though even the dark colors were ok and i love the little smile face on his cap, very nice indeed, keep up the awsome work.

~~THINGS TO IMPROVE ON~~
The backround could show more of a {WARP} kinda feel as to show the character in a more running mode.

Not bad

The character was drawn very well, and the white outline was a nice effect. The background was certainly a nice touch to avoid it looking bland and without bearings.

The design is pretty good, and looks well suited for a comic. The proportion in some places is a tad questionable, but in a comic it would fit very well.

The shading is very good and the colors play nice with each other. Pretty pleasing to the eyes actually.

Overall a good piece. I'd love to see what you can do with it.

Comic hero or villian?

Looks like it has potential to be both a hero or villain as well. He looks like he really is pushing onwards to a strange new place but not knowing what lies ahead either. He just seems to keep rolling forward trying to figure out what to do next in life.

The colors flow greatfully as well to be honest. The background seems to suit him well since he doesn't know where he is from or where he is going either. Seems kind of odd but very cool.

Really good piece of art though, looks great.

Comic book hero!

A nice little snapshot here, complete with Andy Warhol style background, this piece really takes his inspiration just a little further, making the work more colourful and away from the limitations of the printing that he did back in the day.

With the driving force of the character themselves, you have really made the most of maybe 4 colours, but blending subtle shades in here and there has made this piece much more. I can see this sort of character being made into those rub-on temporary tattoos that kids wear every summer.

Running with some weighty bag across the shoulder is commitment and I am impressed by the shape of the body, though suggesting more of a movement with the bag might help - at the point that the body is, the bag might be behind the hips more, with the right hand stride would bring it ahead of the body some.

What are you planning to do with this character? Aside from the comic, I'd love to see you give flash a go with this, as the bionic arm seems like something I want to see move.

Aigis responds:

Thanks for the critique.

With the bag: I have run with a satchel bag on my back before. They are very hard to predict the movement of. They really just fly all over the place.

And I don't have anything planned other than the comic for the character. I suppose if I decide I want to get into animation proper at some point, I might use it?

Impressive

Good job, Now when do you think we can see the other characters of your comic?

Aigis responds:

Well I only have one other design so far: that of Jackie Pryce, Ace Reporter. I've submitted a couple of pictures with her in it, and even more in my art thread in the art forum.
