Nice job!

This is really rad!
And I'm not gonna march up her all up in your junk and tell you your drawing should be this way or should be that way, because I know how it feels to MEAN for a picture to look one way, but people are telling you to draw something completely different.
Anyway, this is really cute! You should do more~

I think for the sake of the people who either haven't played Pokemon or simply don't remember what Sandshrew looks like, an image of Sandshrew itself next to this really wouldn't have hurt, just for the sake of referencing. Because to be honest, if you hadn't mentioned this was based off Sandshrew, I would have probably never guessed.
Though in saying that, you picked a pretty hard Pokemon to try and imitate in a kind of human form. I think even if you'd picked Sandslash instead of Sandshrew you'd have had a much easier task.
I see where you were going with the squared-up jacket, but I think one problem is that it doesn't turn a plain beige near the front, like a Sandshrew's body does. And while the headphones do kind of emulate the ears, you'd have probably found an easier route in giving him those hoodies you get with pointy ears attached to them? But that's just me being a little pedantic, as per the usual.

Drawingwise, this is really nicely done. The shading's all in the right place, you've got some really nice tiny details under the eyes and the jacket itself is probably a highlight in terms of detail. They're a little on the skinny side, but it pretty much works for the style, so that's alright. All in all, it's a nicely drawn picture, and it's obvious you put a fair bit of work into this, which is always cool to see. Though if I'm perfectly honest, if I had to guess what your inspiration was for this not knowing it was Pokemon, I like what seems to be a fair few other people below thought of Gorillaz before they thought of Pokemon, so you might want to think of ways in which to make it lean a little more in the ways you were aiming for.

Aigis responds:

My inspiration was Pokemon only as far as this was supposed to be a human version of a Pokemon.

I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't influenced by Jamie Hewlett's amazing artwork.

This is a... girl?

I'm sorry for the men in this imaginary world if the girls look like little 10 year old boys. :P

First I just notice how small the body is and just how gross this person would look in real life, but meh, it seems to be a style that people enjoy and I can't really mark you down because I don't like a certain style.

The character design is actually very simple, but at the same time pretty detailed. It seems that you took your time with this and that's always a good thing when creating any piece of art. :)

I know it sounds like a broken record by now, but when you get a bunch of people saying the same thing over and over then I guess it's something they really want to see. I wouldn't mind seeing this character with a background of some sort. A desert would really fit with the good color scheme that you already have with your character. People just rather see a character in a setting then they would the character floating in the air.

It's supposed to be around a 10 year old girl. I'd be worried about the men in this imaginary world if they're caring about the appearance of 10 year old girls.

And I wasn't allowed to draw a background.

Gorillaz + Kill Bill

lol, the first thing I tought when I saw this was: ''OMG, Gorillaz??'', and it's very similar, since it seems a monkey, just like the Gorillaz characters... The Kill Bill thing I said before was because it's everything yellow, his clothes looked like the Uma Thurman character, the only different thing was the details in the jacket, that were awesome by the way.

The details are very cool, I liked the hair and the clothes, they're very well detailed and it has a funny and it had style, you made a great art here, man, I really liked the deails, the color and the criativity you put into it... Great!

As I said before, it has style, I loved the jacket, it seems very teenager, and the headphones are awesome, too, since the teenagers of the actual days are always using headphones and at the Internet (ME!! lol) Also, the cigar was pretty cool, I liked the badass representation, but he can't be badass with that misterious smile, you could made a psycho smile or a serioys expression, it'd look way cooler, huh.

I liked the drawing, keep it up man, I wanna see more from you.

Gorillaz?

This piece looks like a cross between 2D and Noodle of the cartoon pop band that has been going for some time now. I think that there is some sort of influence here and it was kind of a shame that either you haven't noticed it or just haven't acknowledged it.

I think that the whole piece is a little let down by the background, or lack thereof. You need to have something going on there, just to add some life and detail to the main piece. Perhaps just a scene where you can see the front room of the house, or something that looks a little domestic, as opposed to the stale effect that this beige background currently gives. Of course, focus does mean that some of the details there needn't be as sharp as you have for the character themselves, but you would certainly enhance the picture itself by adding to it just a little.
