From "Pac-Man X"

Pac-Man, while being the young robotic protector of his home, is often hidden from the public. This choice was made by the higher-ups of N.A.M.C.O. (much to Prof. Iwatani's disappointment) to keep him safe and the people behind his creation (the ones Pac-Man considers his family). Pac-Man is powerful, and when certain people encounter great power, they'll want it for themselves. Certain people like those either don't see Pac any more than just a robot or are scared of what he can do, due to the fact that he's technologically advanced enough to think & feel on his own. Do these thoughts bother him? Sometimes, yes. But then the 2-foot tall yellow glutton of good remembers that as long as he has people who love him, as long as he continues to keep moving forward, as long as he keeps on being kind and doing the right thing, that means that what he's doing is worthwhile. He's not the same as the organics. That goes without saying. But the young lad has infinite hope that bots like him will someday coexist with him.

He's not human...and that's fine by him.
