To be completely honest, this looks like a satellite image. Were this shown elsewhere without the artist signature, that's exactly what I would have thought.
The detail not only makes the core of this image, it also seems to draw my attention into the work, giving the sense that I'm viewing this star from orbit. However, you didn't neglect the detail on the orbiting planets or debris, which only furthers the illusion.
...Don't take it the wrong way, but I think you've caused a nerdgasm. xD
