I like the touch with the newspaper; it gives a good old haunting feeling of nostalgia. Now that the people below me mention it, I do see a Grim Reaper, but as you said, it's all open to the viewer's perspective. I applaud you as I thought this was another ordinary piece of artwork until I actually read the description. I can't even imagine what would happen if I even attempted to do this. Maybe the universe would blow up.

It changes depending on how i look at it.
some times it can appear to be creepy and sometimes it looks like a rather peaceful sunset.
The newspaper effect is very good and i also noticed its looks like it your looking from a foggy window.
glad to see someone finding a part of the image that can't be described as "dark."
