HOW do you do it! I can't help but empathize with those little guys in those terrifying situations.
For example, with this one, I watched as the room started slowly rotating, and I was thinking to myself, "okay..now just press against that wall, good, good... now keeeeep goiiiing and don't let the rotation get ahead of you...gooooood..."
Then, when it started to get ridiculously fast, I started to panic myself: "NO, RUN FASTER, YOU IDIOT! HANG OFF THE FELIX LOGO, no, that's--oh, crap you're... yeah. WOW, you're an idiot, you fucking dead idiot, NICE WORK GOING AND GETTING YOURSELF KILLED THERE...yaaaa fucking...dead idiot. I mean, GOD!"
You really have a way with tying your audience into the action. I guess it's because the perilous obstacles are so "human", and that everyone understands them and understands why they would be fearful. The smooth and anatomically-correct bodily movements help as well. With that sort of animation, you can kind of interpret for yourself what's going on in the little guys' heads and practically see the expressions on their faces.
I know that I'm probably analyzing this stuff more than you were when you were making your movies, but that just proves how well they strike the brain on a raw, instinctual level. I really think they're brilliant. Your style is incredible.
