You sir are good

You really know how to set a mood with music. Very good very good. Any tips on how to make sad music please pm me. I cant seem to get the hang of it. Happy yes, sad and depressing no.

MusicalRocky responds:

Well, thank you very much :)

I do try to set moods with my pieces, indeed I do. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for reviewing.

I will indeed pm you.

Very emotional

You have a very nice piece here. Very emotional as well.

If I might make a suggestion though, I'm not sure if it's just the program you're using, but when the upper strings are playing to compliment the cello, I think that they should decrescendo instead of crescendoing and then just stopping. I hope that makes sense XD It just kind of takes away the overall effect.

Nice work ^_^

MusicalRocky responds:

Yeah, I see what you mean there. However, having the strings fading like that is REALLY typical of sad pieces, and I try to stay away from the norm in my compositions. Well, the strings are crescendoing, but the cutoffs make it more unpredictable (though the notes last the same length in each measure). But anyway, it would have a softer sound with the fade; I did consider it. I just decided against it : D Thanks for pointing that out though.

Glad you enjoyed the piece.

Amazingly Emotional

This song can portray emotions like few pieces can. It's not even sadness to me. It's like what nirvana must be to a Bhuddist. Utter calm, relief, becoming one with the universe.

This would go in a great movie of our time...

MusicalRocky responds:

I agree with you there, though it's not really sadness like someone died, more like a calm, resigned sadness, you know?

Becoming one with the universe? Definitely.

And, yeah, I do imagine this as a movie piece. Thanks for reviewing.

i like it

very calming, espicially when im working ;).
although it sounds like a loop almost, which isnt always good.

MusicalRocky responds:

I'm glad it's calming, that's one of its purposes ;)

Looping wasn't intentional, but eh, doesn't help or harm in my opinion.

Thanks for teh review.
