Reviews for "Skears DX"

Didn't quite realise how good this was...

Played it first time, lost on the second level, got bored, was about to give it a less than great vote, then read the reviews... appears loads of people loved it. So I decided to go back on it again, and have suddenly got hooked. One of those games that's so simple, but bloody addictive. Great job, keep them coming.

AcidDimensions responds:

Glad to have positive feedback from a 'cynical little bastard'. ;)

I suppose that's the problem with such simple graphics and that - loads of folk may be put off. Ah well, I'm glad you weren't one of those folk.

And I'll be making Flash games for a long time yet... :)

Very addicting

But you have NO idea how hard lvl 7 was with my horrible mouse. And the final level too. But I finally one =D Good job this game if really fun and addicting.

AcidDimensions responds:

Well done on beating the final level!

Level 7? Most folk seem to have trouble with level 5.

Nice

Well I thought this was more challanging than the mini spear games I played. I really had to work to get to the final level.
I might be a bit slow after playing so many games but still I had lots of fun playing this. The game was plentyo of challanging and the increse in difficulty as the levels got higher was great.
I am currently still playign the final level . It is giving me some trouble. I must say you made a fun game here. I say add more levels, but I am having enough problems with the final one.
Can't say the game is too eay, sur you can get past the first few board easy but you are supposed too.
Over all I caould play this for a while and waste time no problem.

AcidDimensions responds:

You start by mentioning the difficulty, give a caveat, then elaborate.

Elaboration appreciated.

You mention your current status. Personally, I try to not review games unless I've completed them or basically decided it's not worth my time to bother. If you were going to try and complete the last level, maybe you could have waited until after to review this.

I mean, maybe you wouldn't like the ending. Or maybe it'd be so good that your mark'd be even higher.

You don't give much in the way of criticism though. You haven't said anything about the lack of sfx or music. Should I assume you got tired of saying it or that you simply didn't miss them this time?

I assume nothing. Assumptions are dangerous. But I will bear in mind the possibility of the former.

Anyhow, as you gave the game a 7, it's obviously not perfect. Telling me how I could improve my next effort, when I return to the series would be of great help.

Overall, it was a great review. A good amount of detail as always. Nicely broken into paragraphs.

Nothing in the way of criticism though.

6/10

Thanks again,

Great improvement.

Well, good to see you took the skears games out with a bang, this sure was enjoyable to play. Finally, FINALLY you changed the designs and presentation around - it looks so much better! A lot more professional if you ask me. The increased game size (and screen size) was very nice to play with, and I must ask - how many people have attained the 'grand master' rank of Skears DX? I thought that after a while I'd get the hang of it and it'd become pretty easy... but after just completing the game for the first time, I'm not even going to attempt to do it all without making a mistake, haha.
Overall, a definate improvement in presentation, gameplay and length. I really enjoyed playing this one. Good work.

++++: specific praise
-: run-on sentence.

Hundreds of people have apparantly gotten the title. They're nearly all in the credits (there's so many that the textboxes mess up). Or check my site to see them.

You really needed to put in some constructive criticism. As this is the last Skears game (and it answered a lot of your previous criticism), I really need to know what you think prevented this from getting a 10. Tell me what wasn't so good so I can sort it out.

However, it is a really nice and encouraging review.

Hard

DAMN!!!!!
I got to level 9 and cpuldn't get any further.
Addictive.

AcidDimensions responds:

Yeah... That's a tough cookie, that round 9...

Maybe you'll get past it another day? I personally find that I really play much better on some days than others.

Glad you found the game compelling tho' :)
