Wow!

Man, if there is ever a "most improved" award, you'd definately deserve to get it. You've improved leaps and bounds these past few months- everything is balanced better, clearer, and you seem to have a better overall understanding of how the orchestra fits together.

First off, a question. What drums are you using? I love the samples, they're extremely powerful and crisp. You use them really well!

Second, a suggestion. At 0:41 I believe you have parallel motion in a manner in that sounds awkward (Jumping from a B dim to E minor). It does fit the atmosphere set by the piece, but it may be something you want to take a look at. Other than that, I don't really have any suggestions.

Third, a congrats. You've got a really good shot at the competition! Even if you don't pull the winning prize, you've made more progress than any one else I've listened to on Newgrounds in a long while.

Keep up the astounding work!

MaestroRage responds:

Hey David!

It took a while to get used to using headphones over earphones, but with only roughly a week passed, i'm already able to do more with them then I was with the years of earphone use! I can't wait to get me some slick speakers someday!

The drums in use are as follows *All from East West Orchestra by the way!*

- Taiko Drums *that stick clicking sound*
- S Wagner Bass Drum
- Roto Toms
- Timpani Hits
- Head slamming against wall *not really in song, but dents were planted everywhere!*

I know exactly what you mean at 0:41. I personally liked it better like that, the jump in my opinion added just a little extra spice!

Thanks a lot David. Coming from you thats a real compliment! Like most contests I did it for the experience. Fighting against you, Winter, and Rocky, has really pushed me several nights! I am grateful to have had this oppurtunity! I'm glad you liked it!

Awesome

When I hear this, I think of Roman slaves working to build the Colosseum. Then at about 0:38, it goes to slaves dropping from exhaustion at the end of the day, then at about 0:52, the camera pans over to the emperor overseeing the construction, followed by a zoom outward to show everything.

Yeah, the description wasn't that great, but that's what I see.

MaestroRage responds:

It was still your description and I enjoyed reading it. Though just description alone, it tells a tell as well. Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it!

Woha!

great tunes luv (almost) all ur songs!!, was just wondering what program you use for sampling, or do you happen to have a 50 man orchestra locked up in a closet...?

MaestroRage responds:

I have a 70 piece orchestra... in my glove case. They're all the size of cellphones!

But seriously the sample library I use for most of these tracks are

East West Symphonic Orchestra Gold XP PRO
East West RA
East West Symphonic Choirs
East West Ministry of Rock (don't have this one yet, but it's getting here :D!)

The program I use to actually put down the notes are Fruity Studios!

Hope that answers your question, sorry for the delayed response! Thank you for the review, glad you liked it!

...

You're amazing. I love just about all of your work.

Sweet!
