MD_Fitzpatrick doesn't know what he's saying
I've been working on the game's core engine for the Cube 2 : Hypercube game with Steve and I can assure you that no animations have been "exported" into Flash. This is hardcore flash animation, not some fake immitation.
The game's core has an engine for object placement in a 3D space that I've developped. Sadly, I've come to think that Flash is too slow to be able to manage real-time (reacting to user actions) camera angle transitions in addition to object movement. However, encoding frames allows for great 3D events.
In any case, Steve managed to pull this animation off using whatever simple techniques that were available to him. If you really want to know in-depth details about the way it's done, you should mail him; he may have the time to answer you!
