More Bullcrap than you can fit in most movies! Twas funny, but a little on the boring side. Never underestimate the boredom of politics!
Bravo for a first attempt
I say Bravo. Not because I agree with your message. Just that you are saying it. You bring to the forefront of the viewers mind the morality of current US foreign affairs. The clear absurdity of Bush's premise is so much so, that it bounces the viewer between irritation and humor. Whatever it's purpose, the clip forces the viewer to conjure, at least for a moment, a more appropriate substitution, that reflects the logic associated with the action in Iraq. To the liberal it would be a recipe of raw imperialistic designs mixed with a pinch of pure mean spiritedness (Bushism, I am sure) for the perfect conspiracy. For the conservative, a righteous endeavor to free an oppressed and naive people from a dictator and themselves.
As for me I am somewhere between, where I think it is ok to kill for oil. I would prefer to pay for it, but if they are going to dick around, well, we have Rumsfield for that. I own two vehicles and cannot function without gasoline. I also know where plastic comes from and do appreciate the fact that me and mine don't die every winter because I have the energy to heat my home. I claim no moral high ground, so I guess you could say I am somewhere in the sea of shit that lies between the two safe precipices of thought. I am cool with that.
With that, I thought your piece thoughtful and interesting. You have forced people to realize that watching and listening to world leaders and events is meaningless without at least a brief, pensive, introspective moment. Again, Bravo.
It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad...
I think your use of 'evil' in this movie is HIGHLY redundant. I think I counted about 50-60 uses of the word 'evil' all I could get out of it was 'evil.' Great job recreating the boredom I expirienced watching Bush speak, and nice, humorous tidbits for the more patient of us. You have to work your way through the tedium of the voices to get to the humorous bits. Decent work, but not as great as I thought.
