Nice idea
I like the interactive idea; games like that are always fun. One bug that I found: when you enter the 8th room on floor 2, and pick up the note, then the option to return to the hallway disappears.

A little tip
When you make buttons, make sure you insert a solid shape in the hit target keyframe, it saves users having to point the cursor dead on the thin letters! There maybe users on Newgrounds who are old and have shakey hands and are unable to place the mouse dead on a small line!
Also a simple bit of color here and there wouldn't hurt.
Keep working at this, It could be quite interesting.

Glitchy
Very Glitchy and has many bugs! But for a first game it is a nice idea plus is what do you do after reading the note i can't find out where to go!
