i find this like a cycle. the blue face is some kind of thing this creature has evolved to have to prtect it or help it hunt in some way. the thing in the background could be a creature thats hunting it, or another part of the inital creature. you can also tell that the guy is pokeing out of the water maybe to escape or attract birds. in short i love it.
