To light and then to dark...

To light and then to dark, that one footfall will tell a story of fate for one man. Having lost his beloved, betrayed by others he thought were friends. Setting his feet on the ground he turns to look at the place that he has called home all these long years. A tear down his face, the rain begins to fall, he can hear the Drums of war being played in the distance. Turning his face to the sky he allows the rain to pelt the grief from his soul, and so does he plead to make amends and seek out vengence against those that sought to destroy all he is and all he will be. As if his plea is heard, thunder roars drowning out the drums, and a break in the clouds shows him a blue sky, hope maybe, but he shall avenge his beloved. Turning he sets down the road to which not even a god can foresee his fate, he himself has changed his own destiny and now will he find that path to which strength leads. So as darkness envelopes him, the cry of the wind stops, its as if the world feels his pain, it last only for a moment...but for those with the sense, a battle like none other was building and history shall never forget the man who brought about the Fall of a Kingdom.

Again I deviate from what others had said...but I like it...

MaestroRage responds:

A brilliant story Cosmo! At first I thought this review was meant for Wrath of a Broken Soul, as it sits very well with that too, yet on careful consideration this story works flawlessly with this piece as well. It's exciting to read a story that blends in so perfectly with two different songs! I'm used to reading different stories for the same piece, so you can understand my intrigue here.

The deep and horrible journey the man will take, will no doubt crush his soul, and rip apart morals. In order to do what he wants to, he will become a monster, and he will have to smile all the while.

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it! I apologize for the late response!

Interesting...a true jouney indeed...

Nothing but the best from you Maestro, as expected. This piece starts off gently like the beginning of a journey and then turns strong and wonderful the rest of the way through until the last couple of seconds before it ends with a large timpini rush. A story for such a piece is difficult to write as the piece itself and even the title truly tells all. The only story if anything I can write is this. Life is large journey that is written in the book of your mind. The beginning, as humble as it may be, starts the moment you can remember the first day of being alive. It continues all the way through. Your mind, which is the book of your life, records all you see throughout one's lifetime. Everything you see, you breath, you feel, you hear, everything is written in the large book that is your life. When does life itself truly begin? No one knows, and when does it end? When you have been laid to rest. Life in itself is one big story, and you are the main character. All those that you interact with are sub-characters and the whole world you live in is the main setting. Your story is one that is written as you live your life. The major difference between life and a book being written is that you can't go back and erase mistakes that you make. Your life is written in permenant ink and then engraved in stone. You can't pause and erase mistakes, that's just the way life is. Life is everything that you do throughout it, warts and all.
Hope I didn't get too philisophical on you there Maestro. This all came into my head all at once and was difficult to type as I tried to remember it all. I'm sure you know how that is. Continue to live your life Maestro. God Bless and keep up the good work...

MaestroRage responds:

no, not at all Zen. I fully agree with here. Life is very much like a book being written as you live, or lack thereof.

Listening to this piece again, it needs some equalizing. The bass end of this piece is very thick... but thats besides the point.

I don't quite agree with you when you say the story ends when you die. Oh no, far from it. The story ends when all those who knew you, and continue to love you die. In the rare case you can find a home in history, and for many generations to come, are listened to by young ears. You can never truly die. You can simply, stop influencing the world.

That is how I see it. Thank you for the review, and interesting topic Zen. I am glad you liked it! I apologize for the mad delayed response!

The Misty Battlefront

As the soldiers take their first steps onto the field, they are aware of what awaits them, a grim fate, a happiness of victory, the love of another, and the fate that lies ahead of them they cannot choose for they must rely on instinct and instinct alone. They must lead themselves as they are about to come to the line of life and death, some will come to the point of choosing their fate, live to see their loved ones again, or die to give someone else that chance, and when the music stops the war begins...

I have spun a grim yarn here today, your music brings out the passion of writing in me, in fact this piece has cleared my writer's block and I'm ready to continue writing. Thank You...

HAVE A NICE DAY!
:D

Sincerely,
The-Great-One

MaestroRage responds:

Writers block... how I hateth thee >:(. Whenever I get a writers block, I tear my hair out because I KNOW what it should sound like, but it's just always just beyond my grasp.

Muses come and go, and always they never leave a number in case I need to reach them.

The swine.

In any case, the story is well written. There is one phrase here, which I found especially interesting

"some will come to the point of choosing their fate, live to see their loved ones again, or die to give someone else that chance"

To think, you would have had to make a choice, to die for your friends, or live to see their own funerals. War demands the most difficult questions, with the most vulgar answers.

It was a moment I enjoyed living in.

I am glad your writers block went away. There is no joy greater for me then to start hearing what it is I want to hear once more!

Good luck on your writing! I hope the best for you and your journey. Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it ^^

KK

Another story! I enjoy writing these things. :)

There is a kingdom in the mountains that is under siege by a huge army of evil soldiers and tanks from the kingdom on the other side of the mountains. The people are starving, and they are resorting to eating their own dead.

However, there is a new hope, albeit sad. In the beginning of the song, the enemy forces say that they will exchange much need food supplies for human prisoners for them to sacrifice to their gods. The king, weak and desperate, calls for volunteers. About twenty of the king's personal guards volunteer, and are escorted out of the kingdom's walls towards the enemy army in handcuffs. They face the dangers like men, and in turn the enemy delivers five huge trucks' worth of rice and veggies. The prisoners are led to a platform in front of all the enemy soldiers. Then, they look at their kingdom for one last time before they are beheaded arubtly.

Yeah, heavy LOTR inspiration and gritty ending.

Now, on to the song:

WOW! YOU NEED TO BECOME A FILM COMPOSER! SERIOUSLY, YOU CAN MAKE IT!

AWESOME SONG!

5/5

MaestroRage responds:

:'(

those poor troops. I've always had a soft spot for self sacrifice. picturing them looking at their broken kingdom, their homes, friends and families slain.

Man, I love to hate those moments in my head. Maybe i'm just a pansy.

As for becoming a film composer, nah ;). I'd love to help filmers, and game artists etc, but I don't think I would want to do it as a job. Purely because it would be a challenge to undergo!

Thank you for the review and story again scout. I am glad you liked it ^^.
