Simple, yet cute. :-)
I'll also put in my two-cents about the sound-effects being rather jarring indeed, and the animation could be a little more smooth... but, past that, I rather liked it, to be honest. Short, but funny in a charming sort of way. :-) If you extend the story and flesh out this 'Pete' character a bit more, as well as work on the animation and sounds, I think it'd be a really sweet piece of work.
It's not too entertaining
It's a quality entry. The graphics are good and the sound is decent. The animation is average but the timing needs some work. Some things happen too slowly, like when his helmet falls off, it takes too long to hit the floor. About the animation, the only thing that prevents me from saying it's good is the jumping. He look too stiff as he jumps. You could fix that by making the center of the character's symbol be in the bottom and using scaling effects when he hits the floor(making him look like he's pushing himself to jump). I hope you understand what I'm trying to say :)
About the sound effects, they're not great but they're not bad at all. The sound, animation and timing are things you could improve to make it look better. The only thing that really needs improving is the storyline, as it's not too entertaining. Remember this, storyline is ALWAYS more important than animation.
It was a good entry overall, though.

the sounds drove me insane! Please have mercy on us, I want to cut my ears off.....But the animations were good.

THat was really great! The sound was super annoying. Visually, it was more interesting than most of the crap on NG.
