Reviews for "Teminite - A New Dawn"

At long last, I get to gush endlessly about this song in a place where it makes sense to.

This is an absolute mastercraft in terms of how to make a fun, varied, engaging banger. It's a song completely worthy of its 5-and-a-half minute runtime. At no point does it ever drag or repeat itself to the point of being a chore to listen to. Everything here is packed with a consistent amount of energy, and every sound used here is very pleasing to the ears.

This song has everything I love about your style, but it also subverts many conventions of your songs and approaches concepts from non-traditional ways. We have the trademark Teminite solos here, except they're played on a guitar rather than a keyboard. We have a hype-as-fuck first drop followed by a traditional Teminite break, except from there the song plunges directly into a surprise second drop that's even more hype than the first. It's the perfect blend of old and new concepts within your style.

A major peeve of mine in bass music is the copy/paste drop. The practice feels like a cheap excuse to pad out runtime for the sake of another dynamic peak. Go figure, this song avoids that convention. All three drops here are vastly different and special in their own right.

The first drop is a phenomenal midtempo drop, with a fast pace, varied structure, lots of cool sounds, and a great groove behind it. The second drop, my personal favorite of the three, throws genre convention right out the window and goes for some extremely weird, non-traditional, doesn't-give-a-fuck bass design, and I love it. And the final drop brings in those classic Teminite melodies for a climax to the song before switching up into a modified version of the first drop.

What really pushes the song that much further is those guitar melodies, though. They give it an extra unique quality. Such melodies on a keyboard would have been awesome, but on a guitar, they're just that much more notable. They stick in my head that much more firmly because of that.

Overall, I'd say this is a contender for my favorite song of the year. I'd also consider it the best song you've made up to this point, and I don't think it's going to be topped for quite some time. You've really outdone yourself with this one, Sam.

This song is straight fire dude! The guitar riffs are fantastic and the drops are dope as fuck! Love the vocals and this entire track just leaves me energized and excited. Fantastic work on this one Teminite! :D
