His face says it all. Its intense.
It adds humor in my mind if he just happened to stumble on a magic mushroom and thought it was a power up. I dont know, maybe its because he looks a little bit surprised. Yes its a popular motif with Mario getting high and yes I think its funny and not hackneyed. Im more of a weed man myself, but I can appreciate this. Good work, nice colors, pretty funny interpretation.. What I would change is cut the picture around his (non-existent) knees because there are only a few objects around and you've got this massive space to use. Peace to you, eastern neighbor. :)
