900 generations and dead offspring later, I finally beat the game.
The levels are designed in a way to dick the player over, I love it. The levels were challenging yet still doable given that the player tries hard enough.
The gameplay mechanics are really good and fits the game so well while only using one button. It really executed the movement well, I don't see this type of movement often so it's great to see unique games like this.
There are a few bugs but at least it's not game-breaking and if the player gets stuck then they can just restart. The bug where the player doesn't get hurt by the hazards if they are going too fast can be exploited though. Also the scoreboard doesn't seem to be working, I'm assuming that it's supposed to keep track of the players that completed the game with the least number of generations.
Also, I think it would be nice for the current generation to appear in front of the previous ones. It gets pretty hard to see where the player is aiming at when you are covered in a mountain of corpses of those that came before you.
Anyway, this was a fun and great game. Really fun and challenging to complete and a really interesting concept for the game jam.
