Could have done more
To be fair, that was a basic overview to something simple that most people can do anyway.
And those who can't wouldn't really have been helped by that cos you could have made so much more. I.e. actually putting code on button etc. Or anything else useful for that matter............

It's good that you're attempting to show people about how to create a button, but the problem that most people(noobs) are having is not in going to creating a button symbol. It's the other parts. Like showing how the button is when it's up, over, down, and hit. And showing how to make the button have an action.
You made the classic noob mistake
Newbies think that that's all you need to create a button. In my opinion you forgot one of most important elements: hit area. Without it, if someone uses text only, you have to click on the text - which can be annoying.
As for being on the frontpage - I don't think that a tutorial that is exactly the same as in Flash with no originality could make it. ever.
There is a lot more to buttons. If you add everything that reviewers suggest, then it should be ok.

Well decent tutorial i think, if it helps then thats a plus, maybe present it in all art form, ohwell not bad...
