Forgiven through blood...
Very good as always Maestro. This piece intrigued me in such a way that I had to write a story for it in particular. A young blacksmith looks out his open window and the sea greets him from this. A war is tearing his homeland apart as the Kingdoms struggle to defend themselves from their evil neighbor. The blacksmith had once helped the Kings of these Kingdoms by forging for them swords of great power, each one suited to the King's personality. However, because of the swords great power, the evil Kingdom had always tried to steal and take the sword that the blacksmith had made for the King. The blacksmith would help quell the war but then the Kings would return the sword to him, saying that their Kingdoms were not ready for such power. After all the wars had been laid to rest the grand total of victims over the sword reached eight thousand. Grieved by the huge loss of life, the young blacksmith secluded himself to a tiny village along the outskirts of the Kingdoms. However, even this was not enough to stop news of the Kingdom's plight from reaching his ears. But the blacksmith is fearful that if he partakes in another war, that it will only result more life being lost due to him. But then a little ghost, the ghost of a little boy who had died in the previous wars appears in front of the blacksmith and puts his hands on his hips and says to him, "What do want?" the blacksmith, not surprised by this sudden appearence says, "I think...I want to be forgiven...more than anything..." The boy nods and says, "By who?" The blacksmith's eyes well with tears and says, "By all the people who died because of me...but it's too late for that...I let them die..." The little boy sighs and says, "Boo hoo, poor us...isn't it time you forgave yourself?" The blacksmith is taken aback by this and the boy disappears. And he thinks about it for a while and finally realizes what he must do. And the war is stopped due to a man who found the strength to forgive himself and who once again, found his courage. He had found a small measure of peace...that we all seek...and few of us ever find... Keep up the good work...
