Reviews for "{The Sewers}"

Good Stuff

It starts like some kinda rpg big epic game, nice breaks into bell-like simple hits with a half break and nice bass-sound. Quite a trebley mix so far, hoping for a big bass end. The beats are good ol dnb through and through, the little glitchy bell-like sounds work really well, the stabby synths i'm not so sure about, sound a little cheap compared to the rest of the mix.
It's a very competent peice of DnB that i think would benefit from some EQ mastering to really bring out the frequencies. Also I really don't like piano in dnb music:D SOme of the sounds are a little techy and dont belong in DnB in my ears, but I see this being used in many a flash.
It's really well arranged and thought out and a good listen all the way through, constantly evolving.
4/5

cornandbeans responds:

Thanks for the review, man! Your opinion means a lot to me. :)

I tend to break a lot of rules when dealing with genres, sometimes it's a really bad habit though. :P I really like acoustic instruments along with electronic ones, that's all. :)

Thanks again!

Second try :)

(Oh god, I reviewed the wrong song :S please forgive me :))
Let me explain my criticism:
Originality - 6: Well, DnB is kind of overrated. Not that I don't like it, but it just is.

Clarity - 10: Everything sounded perfectly in tune, sounded clear, it was GREAT :D

Diversity - 8: Well, explains itself :)

Effort - 10: A song this well must've had a lot of effort :D

Now for the questions:
what VSTi's did you use on this song?
And in the beginning, what is that soft tinging sound?
that's it, hope to get a response, and keep up the good work :D
CHeck out my future work some,
Superflonic

cornandbeans responds:

I used 3xosc along with some low pass/high pass deals. The soft tinging sound in the very beginning is a chime of some sort, but the other sounds I think you're talking about are shortened ride cymbals. :) That's what gives them such a metallic sound.

Thanks for the review, man!

*clap clap*

whoa, nice job on this one! what synth did you use for the reece? I really loved the intro, but the rest of it too really :D Snare sounds perfect!

cornandbeans responds:

:D

I used 3xosc. :) I'll be glad to show you how I did it, my msn is cornandbeans101@hotmail.com. :)

i dont like this box

seems more industrial than, say, sewerish.
then again, its kinda hard to put sewer into sound.
i mean, how do you use music to portray stench and filth?

anyhow, like the evil grainy feeling to this song.
and that high pitched bell-like thing that i dont know what to call.

a 5 4 u.

cornandbeans responds:

think of like.... you know... deadly monsters that lurk deep in the sewers... that kind.

Not sewage, lol.

Thanks for the review. :P
