Reviews for "Sucker Munch"

This one was a pleasant surprise. What I liked the most was that even though I reached the final mutation by wave 13, the game keeps throwing you new enemies and doesn't just spawn an unfair amount of the same enemies to just kill you. I reached around wave 21 and encountered the giant spawners on my way there. I wonder if there are even more enemies?

VeryEvilTomato responds:

Sadly there are not since we did not have the time to add more enemies in the 3 days we had to develop the game. But for an extended version we'd add different arenas and more enemies :)

First game - dind't know about mutation. still fun

Second game - mutation. more fun.

But not really interested in playing for third time (or extended version). Strong entry, All hail the art of screenshake!

VeryEvilTomato responds:

Thanks so much! Although you're not that interested I'm still glad you had some fun with our game, that was our aim after all :)

Awesome man, I have a sweet spot for games with a pixel art style. It's fun, simple and challenging.

VeryEvilTomato responds:

Thanks a lot! Really glad you enjoyed the game.

This game has excellent graphics, fun fast paced gameplay, nice progressive variety of nicely animated enemies, interesting plot, nice mutation mechanics.

What this game lacks badly is either a story mode with an ending or high scores for players to evaluate their performance. Otherwise it is endless and pointless.

This game is in all aspects better then the later submission by the same author - Cubito Mayhem, because this game is less abstract and has more story, enemies and the protagonist have more character and gameplay is slightly deeper due to the absortion. Too bad both these games suffer from a lack of purpose - that would be either reaching an ending or some achievement, like a medal or trying to surpass some other player's score. I am giving this a half star more then Cubito Mayhem, for being strictly better, but I cannot give more for the lack things mentioned above.

I find that the absorption doesn't really do enough to justify the trouble of absorbing the liquefied remains of dead enemies, it seems to increase fire rate slightly, maybe also damage, but hat it also needs to do is to heal the protagonist for a longer game and to be really worth it.

I think authors should update their game with features I mentioned above and post it on newgrounds as a new entry it would make a very good game then.

This has been done before and I like the graphics style and love the idea of evolutions but it got a little to repetitive. Adding in some Terrain into the map would be really nice as well as more abilities. Great game though! (also the text in the beginning kind of hurt my eyes)

VeryEvilTomato responds:

We tried to do our best in the little time we had :) But I completely second the motion that it can get a little repetitive past round 15, thanks a lot for the feedback.
