Reviews for "The Painted Lady"

One of the deepest games ive ever played.
The gameplay is simple, but the message is so strong.
Music is unbelieveable.
All its surrounded by a sad, powerful message.
As for artwork and programing; excellent.
Kinf of hard for some people to get the point of the game, its not something people are used to in this gamepages.

seems like an interesting thing you got here....wish there was a bit of backstory or some instructions as i got no idea what the fu** im doing or why. and then while trying to click around on various things in the room i ended up bringing up the cracked mirror where it seems to just stop. i dont even want to try again as ill just end up frustrated over not knowing what im supposed to be doing at all.

I think I dont see the depth of this game but I love the artstyle and the music is awesome. Also I am stuck at the cracked mirror. Is that the end?

Wow, this is truly amazing, i'm impressed, it's magnific.

So powerful and intense in every way, the art, the vague way the story is told, the soundtrack, this combination takes you on an amazing trip during the whole experience, it touches your very soul in a poetic way, it makes you feel the heavy melancholy, the hopelessness, i can't help but stare at the screen after the end, i'm lost, and speechless. I love it so much

And the music, oh gods the music, it's absolutely gorgeous and i need more of it in my life.

Verzinsky responds:

You can find the OST on the description :)

I am thoroughly impressed, even with another tab open, you allow the game to pause the music for the beautiful song to be heard. This is something that is a small thing, yet goes a big way for me in appreciation of the game.

As we play this game, it seems introduce us rather early to having to be prepared for customers, and though we do not know who we are attending it seems a little vague. Now, when the first individual comes up, it seems that our job is a little more apparent given the options that are shown. We see that she is some what upset, and as the player we seem to be partially upset given what you choose.

The introduction of a rhino is something that can easily be drifted over with the focus of the story, and as we play along it becomes a little natural in away from the casual theme that continues to play as you are presented with the same options from before which are "Listen" and "Ignore."

Now, as we progress it tells us about our health , who in specific is unknown as the current positioning of the characters tell that neither have been exposed to any reason as to why they would say this. You can choose whichever you want, but given how vague some options are makes the game the type to happily take another step into it just to have a look for yourself.

Now we seem to be very well adapted with what our occupation is, and the theme can make one feel very bad for our main character whois almost unfazed by this with little reaction to 'checking health'.

"Remember who's giving you this job." It seems to linger in my mind, and it opens up many ideas on how the game is progressing towards which would fall in the lines of a slice of life and a not so jump with joy kind of music.

Now we know we are in debt, and we are suppose to take every chance we can get to do something that seems to be the cause of this unmoving attitude we are given at the start.

Now, the dialogue from the Rhino says two things. Either the person was trying out some experiments with the Rhino's form of speech, and though it seems that there is a lack of communication that bodes differently, it seems very peculiar. Now, it does pick up pace with the dialogue, and it seems to be making it more clear for some approaches that further make this the norm.

When you click around a bit, you notice you can select items, and look through drawers, but some of which do not indicate you can do anything. The make-up is not applied either, it is just scraped about when you click on it.

Depending on what you choose, someone at some point refers to you as daughter, then you are greeted with the same choices as the others which is "Interesting" Or "Boring" then it gets into an interesting little concept of a father and daughter relationship which leads to potential sex with your own father. I was going to say it needed a bit more alternative approaches, though this caught my eye.

But he leaves, then it becomes a scenario of whether it was just some kind of cruel method, and then the beautiful singing opens up a higher inspection. I give this game a solid five, the creativity, the approach, the design, and the overall ability to keep one interested.
