PaulyBFromDa303 responds:

LOL thanx bro. Too bad this song was made 10 years after the game itself XD

Cool

It sounds better than most Mario remixes. Perfect use of tone and bass. Keep it up!

Thunx d00d. Gangsta! WOOO!

A R3M1X0R!

Whoa. This song, there`s really a lot I can say about it. This time I must make this review a little bit more systemathic than I use.

-(Main part)-

The start was not good at all and made me feel sicker than anything.

It got better in the song, but it was way too faint and such, so it didn`t give any musical feel, and rather made me want to turn the stuff off.

A good beginning is so very improtant to have for an enjoyable and good song. It turned MUCH better after a while when you turned away all the shit synths and toka a mega bass-lead-like synth.

Also, this is not the Boss Theme, it`s the Bowser theme!
But who cares.

You have some awesome and dominating percussion samples which made the song much better and made it rock out at it`s full potential.

The way you filled the background with countermelodies made the song really ass-kicking.
I especially liked the semi-arabic countermelody in the middle with that synthie.

May turn out too strung in the full song as it`s really loud with all the instruments upon each other.

When you brought back all the shit from the start, I was really disappointed. It was really not neccesary at all, and it could have continued just as normal.

-(Pros and Cons)-

Now I will look at what was good and bad.
+ Awesome drum and percussion
+ Countermelody paradise
+ Some instruments were unique and really well used
+ Very nice structure
+ Good middle part and end
+ Nice placement of the instruments at middle
+ Sick background effects and pads
+ Could play OVER AND OVER/Awesome catchiness
+ HOLY SHIT, what a mixing!
- Awful beginning
- Bad placement of instruments at beginning and end
- Too faint at times
- Overuse of Modulation Bend
. Strung as hell
So... well, I liked it more than I disliked it ;)

-(Improvement chances)-

-I think you could have the beginning with a more straight, direct synth like a runner or a basic synth.

-Don`t use modulation bend to much. It may sound cool, but in this case it turned out crap.

- Know your limits. It can have a lot of synths, effects and stuff, but don`t use it more than you want. I don`t know if you did, but it was way too much sound here, and it blends and such after a while.

-(Scores)-

Originality: 9
Totally redone version of the Bowser Boss theme track! But not totally done by yourself, the melody was at times very much like the original.

Clarity: 6
It was Video Game, yes, but it`s more of the Techno genre!
Also, very loud and strung at times. That`s a minus.

Diversity: 10
You are KING.

Effort: 9
This toke long long long long long long long time to make, but if you did like my notes said, it would have been better.

Overall: 8
Awesome, but something`s not good.

EDN!

PaulyBFromDa303 responds:

Wow man, you typed a handful, but you were really honest (unlike the other reviewers lol). You gave some good advice, which I will have to keep in mind when I write my next song. Thanx much, SBB.
