It's good if you don't think about it
It's a good concept that COULD have worked, if only you put more thought into how your character developed. He just didnt mesh with the story you put forward

Interesting concept, a person who is bread to kill, to forsake all emotions in the art of death and yet still manages to succomb to the most basic of human emotions: love. (In a brotherly sense)
