This game is great. The animation is smooth and appealing. The backgrounds fit with the levels. The music fits the game pretty well. The combat is surprisingly complex and difficult. The enemy variation is also surprising. Pretty much everything about this game is great.
I do have two complaints, however. One of those complaints is that it just kind of throws you into the whole game. No explanation or plot. Just a bad guy being seen and then he runs off, and the game starts.
My other complaint actually contributes to one of the things above that I said was a strength of his game. I said that the combat was surprisingly complex and difficult. The reason for the difficult part is that I have no way of upgrading my health or weapon. Ok, there is an item that will increase my damage for a time, but that is temporary. That really became a nuisance on the level that i had to stop on because I wanted to get this review out while it was still under judgement and couldn't play through the whole game because of it. I'd love to see where the game takes this character who I think is named Achilla, but there isn't a way that I can get further because I suck at every game that isn't Bloodborne, which is ironic because Bloodborne is considered hard as fuck by everyone.
I'd like to see a sequel for this game. Possibly with more than one person working on it. Although I said the animation was great, I feel you could use a better style. I did not say make it look like anime. I am sick and god damned tired of that style being everywhere, and it would be best if there was some more originality (just a precaution there). I feel that there could be a shop that you could buy health potions, weapons, upgrades, shit like that. This would make the game still challenging as long as you balance it right. What I am saying is that I want to see more of this and that I feel you should make a sequel. I'm sure that many people will agree with me on that. If you are not one of those people, I guess that's fine. I hope you consider this review if you make a sequel. Thanks for reading.
