Reviews for "The Tao of Space"

...

this movie sucked.....well the graphics were cool but i mean cmon accual music would of been nice, and you could of made it so u ave to click sum stuff....

Nice Graphics weak movie

Hmmm great graphics but besides that the whole movie just went down hill. I mean the whole story and message behinde it is pretty good but lets be honest who wants to sit through some boring crap like that. But hey keep trying.

Yeah but...

I should note before I review that I haven't see the full animation. It's taken me three tries to watch it and I think I've gone beyond the call of duty to go that far. The first two crashed IE and the third cut out once the asian was reaching for the Buddah. However, from reading the FAQ, the 'spoiler' and the other reviews I can pretty much envision how the rest of it went.

While I don't want to be like DavrilChorster in my review I must confess that I wasn't too thrilled with this entry. It's great that you're bringing something 'intelligent' to Newgrounds but I fear that part of the reason that it's scored so high is because nobody wants anyone else to think they're stupid. To be honest I wasn't very impressed with the animation. I felt the scenes with the ships dragged on and didn't really do anything other than give a fine example of a tween. I also thought the symbolism was a bit heavy handed (I've just come back from a seminar where one thing we were taught was 'a symbol with the meaning it has in life (American flag=patriotism etc.) is the mark of a student film.'). Another quote that would sum up my feelings on this entry would be "great art silences the mind." It didn't silence my mind... Perhaps it's just me. I certainly can't explain what I think would make this better. Obviously there's going to be a comparison with 2001 and this. I really liked 2001: A Space Odyssey and really can't pinpoint the reason why. I don't sit down and say 'well that was a nice camera move there' or 'well that's a pretty colour.' I just enjoy it. I couldn't do that in this case. It kept reminding me that what I was watching was a flash animation (albeit a cut above the average NG entry). I suppose I could just sum it up as 2001 'has it' and this doesn't.

Good Graphics...

good graphics but the story lacked alittle more... now i watched this movie twice and i didnt really get it.. until i read the explanation of it about the path of knowledge/truth whatever either way not bad but was sorta the same thing over and over again..

watch it, but the ending is too

In exploring deep space:

1) The Chinese explorers find a buddha-like figure on another planet.

2) The Europeans explorers find an angel-like figure on another planet.

3) The Muslim explorers find a Koran-like book on another planet.

4) The American explorers find an ET statue.

Apparently, alien worlds have mimicked or are the original source of Buddhism, Islam, Christianity and whatever the ET is supposed to represent - maybe alien worship?

Then the four explorers hold hands

Now everyone sing "I like to teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony..."

Bleh, this story ending is like United Nations propaganda.
