This was surprisingly ingenious. I remember the first place I heard about leeches used in a medical setting was in elementary school. There was picture in one of our textbooks of a leech inside someones ear.
When the main character sees someone else get the opportunity to do what he always wanted to do and it only results in their death, he realizes that even if he could leave the jar and participate in medicine, it wouldn't be worth it because human medicine is completely irrelevant to leaches. Then he sheds his wig and bow tie, his symbols of pretension, and the inside of the jar becomes colorful, alive, and welcoming. Thus he becomes happy and content when nothing has changed but his perspective. So the moral is that chasing worldly ambition and prestige is pointless because the only way to be happy is to find happiness within yourself. Learn to appreciate what you have because you live in a world that you cannot control.
What a nice surprise ! It's funny, the leech world is consistent so the humor never gives in to the absurd. I liked the voices and the graphics, I can't find anything bad in this nice anim, congrats !!!
Exellent study. One of the deepest clips in Newground for some time. Maybe a bit longwinded for existential comedy, but "got you thinkin".
