Reviews for "FLOOD!"

I have to say the game is great but it needs to teach the player much better at the start rather than just tutorial text.

Hoork responds:

Thanks for your support, man! Actually, I have working at tutorial after I finished making the game. In that reason, there is no much creativity here. It was a mistake.

Good but the difficulty ramps up from 1 out of ten hardness to 10 out of 10 so,you loss a star for not thinking about making the game fun.

Hoork responds:

I see that. Creating levels for this game isn't simple and it's really hard to manage the hardness of level.

very cool idea!

im not sure if this is intended, but sometimes when i hit the play button to advance the flood one step, it just keeps going and floods the entire stage without stopping to let me finish placing walls.

i also have issues with placing walls--sometimes if the screen isnt centered properly, there are places where no matter how i click i can't place a wall, even though its grass. on that note, panning seems pretty useless. currently on lvl 12, and hasnt really been a need to pan (besides trying to find a position where I could properly place blocks)

Hoork responds:

Thanks, pal!

Then you hold "play" button flood will advance, while you keep that button pressed. But if you release mouse NOT on this button, flood continues to advance. just Click once on "play" button to fix this.

The issue with the placing walls is a big mystery for me. I still can not find roots of this problem.

Panning will help you see things at the last levels(they are really big). Do not underestimate it

Pretty good! A simple yet unique mechanic make some pretty rigorous challenge, only that the pleasure of solving a level gradually decreases while the pain of not figuring out what to do increases, some kind of story can encourage the player to reach the end if there is one, but I guess that's not really possible with a sandbox game.

Hoork responds:

Thank you for your review! Yeah, you right, the game didn't offer any reward for success. I will keep in mind this, then I will work on the next game.

Honestly, I wanted to add some story about cynical dictator, which hire you to protect his own domain, but there is actually would be a lot of text per level, which will distract player from the game, IMHO.

Novel idea and well thought-through game mechanic.

However, the playability of this game would improve tremendously with the addition of an (unlimited) UNDO button. As is, it is frustrating to have to restart after 30+ turns because of a mistake in the 31st.
