I don't think a lot of the reviewers here get the point that Doggy is a character...a particularly old and curmudgeonly character and his views do not necessarily represent those of the creator.

Simpsons did that style of comedy far better anyhow and Family Guy is just a Simpsons-wannabe. Someone could point out the Simpsons/Familly Guy crossover episode but then it's easy enough to point out a little something called jumping-the-shark.
