Reviews for "Monotone"

Sorry, but I got tired of all the fall-throughs. Also the text is ridiculously too small -- how can anyone read that without extreme squinting? I can only assume the text renders differently on your computer than on mine, but don't assume everyone has the same fonts you do or that small fonts will render nicely for everyone. On my computer it's text for ants.

I gave it a chance. First fall-through was on the second level. Reset and played again. Would get a few more fall-throughs although it was pretty random. Got tired of all the fall-throughs and resets and quit about level 5. Please fix this.

As I see you are the creator of the game GRAVITY which also had this exact same problem, check your main game engine code base and fix this because otherwise it will plague all of your games. I know I gave similar feedback on GRAVITY about the fallthroughs as did others but I see you still haven't fixed that piece of code.

Primajin responds:

I'm sorry you experienced problems with the game man, Can you load other web fonts ok? The text is quite large (13pt I think) so you should see it fine. As for fall through, the collisions are all quite precise, the only thing I can think is that you unable to run the game at a playable framerate :(

Very interesting variation on the now very common idea of black-and-white-concept-meta-platformer.

I liked this a lot. The switching mechanic may not be new, but it combined those those mechanics in an interesting way. Puzzles had a good increase in difficulty and everything controlled pretty smoothly.

The story pleasantly surprised me, and is probably what stood out to me the most. Nice take on abstract art games. I still think the ending was paced a little too quickly though, I would have loved to see more after the "reveal."

Primajin responds:

Thanks :) - yeah I think the end could have played out a bit more but I wanted to stick with it being quite short haha

A lot of "schootching". Just little movements. Not really bad, and the text was... really really small. Overall not bad though. Nice little touch with the time too.
Story was a little all over the place though. By choice I think, but still.

Primajin responds:

Hey - I kind of was planning on a desktop release originally, intended to be played full screen. I'm not sure why you got jumpy movement, would you say the framerate was low or just jumpy?

This game is really beatiful, sometimes in Newgrounds, Kongregate or other pages someone can find a very beatiful ,little and minimalist game, with a beatiful soundtrack and a simple but hard gameplay.

This game is one of the best puzzle-plataformer i ever played, if you got $100 and add much more levels and more content, maybe you will be able to sumbit the game in Steam Greenlight and if your game is good enough to the people, maybe your game will be published on Steam.

Good Luck with this game and with your next games, very good :)

Primajin responds:

Thanks :) that's really nice of ye to say
