I’m not a big Mario fan but I enjoyed this game. The graphics are all probably taken from various Mario games, however they are integrated well. The screen always flashes before every battle and game over, which was quite annoying.
The story is what I would expect from a Mario game, it's actually one of its strongest points. The music is pretty good, with many different tracks for this relatively short game, I noticed some of them didn’t loop well though.
There isn’t much gameplay, in fact the only time you can move a character around is when Bowser first appears. I did find it funny that he will berate you if you go the wrong way. In battle, having to use the mouse to choose an attack was weird, especially since there was only one option available and the rest of the game is played with the arrow keys and spacebar. The only way to beat the second boss is to time your attacks perfectly, which may seem very difficult but all you actually have to do is mash the spacebar.
The little quiz on the loading screen was a nice addition.
