Reviews for "Code Box"

Great idea. Unfortunately very poor execution. I loved the platforming, but I had this unbearable lag that made it harder, and the lag was only when I was moving. If I stopped moving, thing would run smooth but once I was moving, it was very choppy.

Then when I was at the boss fight, I accidentally pressed r. No big deal I thought since you said we would start right where we left off. WRONG. It weirdly enough fixed the lag program, but I had to start the whole corridor over. Very frustrating.

But the main concept of the game, to be able to code a robot, was . . . sorry if I hurt your feelings, but it was rubbish. I didn't feel like I was coding anything. I didn't understand anything. I was just dragging bizarre terms to different places. I'm really glad you put them in the correct order as is because if not, it would have just been irritating.

But see I *could* forgive all of this if it wasn't for one thing- the REPETITIVE coding. Every single time you entered a room, your coding was reset. . . . . You couldn't even walk. Seriously? Why on earth would you do that? I loved the levels themselves but this was the most annoying feature you could implement. It was such a hassle to have to drag labels into position every single level, ESPECIALLY if it was all the same. Yes there were a few level that had unique codes but FOR THE MOST PART it was just walk left, walk right, and jump. Now . . . why couldn't those have remained permanent for the rest of the game? Or at least have SHORT CUTS to put in the codes? Because honestly, it didn't even work half the time when I tried to stick the codes in so I just ended up fiddling with them every damn room. I'm sorry. I know you worked hard on your game and as I said, I loved the actual level designs and platforming. I just really hated having to put in the same codes in the same position every single level. What was the point of that? I was so annoyed by the end of the game. I didn't want to do it every level. At the very least, you could have had us do it within every world (Gravity, Rain, Coordinates, ect) and then the coding would have stayed there for that whole world.

I love this! I think everyone that programs could get trough this fairly easy but It is a great way for beginners to learn very very basic programming. I like the way you combined these two things into one.

I would have rated the game higher if it didn't lag so horribly. All in all, the concept was brilliant! It's a great way to introduce early programming skills to someone who may be interested. I gave up on the ??? EXIT door level (first one). At that point the game was lagging very badly and I couldn't even see the cause of my death. A single tap would be enough to kill me. If you can find a way to fix the lag and maybe incorporate a few more components, I will definitely be back to play!

I really liked the concept and wanted more levels and possible functions, though I'm not sure what more you could add. The last level I gave up on, the one with the random rain drops being red; I could not find a noticeable pattern. Overall, it's pretty neat and if expanded on might be a nice tool for children looking to learn some basic programming principles.

Really good but lags terribly on the second round of coordinates.
