Reviews for "Playing With Letters"

great game, actually made an account solely to give you credit for this!! spent a while trying to get the secret ending, its pretty difficult! anyways, well done on the game. looking forward to the sequel. if you can give me a heads up towards the hidden ending to put me out of my misery it would be appreciated haha.

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Wow, thanks a lot for taking the time to play, making an account, AND reviewing o.O Really, thank you.

I won't spoil the secret ending, but I want to clarify one thing. The secret ending is not a puzzle. It is something that only the most curious players will even have a chance to unlock!
But I tell all the people that PM me how to get it, as dedication is all that is needed.

I will PM you about the secret ending in a sec.

I love good text-based games and this is certainly no exception. The first 'real' level was kind of a face palm moment for me because I was really overcomplicating it. Glad I managed to figure it out because after ten minutes of not understanding how to solve the puzzle I was beginning to feel stupid.

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

There's no shame in that. Before you're used to the concept and the game, you kind of don't know what to start looking for.
Thanks for playing and reviewing! :D

Incredible. That is the only word i can find to summarize this game. There are some other I suppose, atmospheric, chilling, begging-for-a-sequel, and many more in similar vain. Anyways, I applaud your story telling to the ends of the earth, however the only criticism I can muster is to make it a tinge more obvious that Noel's demonic-mockery is that, a mockery of the people around him as you stated, since without reading your comment on that I would have taken it as genuine and seen him as more generic of a villain. Again though, that aside this is one of the best atmospheric experiences I've had with a game in a long time, and I eagerly await the sequel. [after all, those three words shan't answer themselves!]

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

That's quite generous as a word to describe the game! I like all the other words you mentioned as well :3

I guess that I should've made it more clear that Noel is not of the demonic type, good point. Great job for reading it in the review replies though!
It's definitely something to think about when I write the sequel ;)

I'm really happy to hear that you enjoyed the experience, and while it will take a relatively long while before I'll have the time to work on the sequel, the good news are is that I already have an idea of how to go about it, and some new but hopefully good puzzles in mind too :)

Thanks for your review!

This game was so awesome and so scary. I was very stumped with the second part but after that it was easy but when I got to the end i knew exactly what was gonna happen and I had to literally turn on my room lights. Wow I hadn't felt that creeped out in a while nice game man

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Wow, thanks a lot!!
I'm extremely happy to hear that I managed to get the intended creepiness across!
I honestly wasn't sure if people would find the game creepy, as I don't feel the same, having created everything, including the music :p

Ah man, I love it. I'm a huge fan of word games and this was just gr8.

Terrible at riddles, though. Still stuck on the first riddle, but I'll get it eventually. :V

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Great to hear!
It seems you've managed to solve the riddle by now, and beat the game, so I think congratulations are in order ;)

Thanks dude :)
