As always, amazing game. And 35th place out of 1353? That's amazing! Great job.

[Gameplay]

I definitely enjoyed using both the WASD keys, and the arrow keys.
Focusing on the terrain while dodging the bullets from the boss was fun, no doubt. The boss room wasn't a thrill, though. Standing still and shooting left or right pretty much does the trick. Although, it's the same case for the boss as well.
It's a shame the level wasn't randomly generated like the weapons and items, but I doubt you had time for that.
Is it just me, or is the Guava Slice Gun incredibly strong?

Fast, exciting and addicting, this game is pretty much what any game developer should aspire for.

[Graphics]

Even though I don't mind the 3D graphics games have these days, I would switch for these in an instant. 16-bit, if I'm not mistaken.

In any case, they're great as always.

[Story]

Little to no story. You have to rescue an unconventional item (i.e. Bubblegum Sheep) from the Villain's grasp.

Pretty vague, so I'm not the biggest fan of it.

[Music]

The music was well made, and sometimes I actually sang along. Can't complain about it, honestly.

[Addictiveness]

I would play this again, no doubt. I loved most of the 13 achievements. Incredibly fun, yet challenging.

[Difficulty]

It was pretty hard at the beginning, since I wasn't used to the controls. A few matches later, I was outstanding, if I do say so myself.

Don't get discouraged by the starting difficulty, it clears pretty fast.

[Overall]

Addicting and incredibly fun as always, Zanzlanz has created another amazing game. It deserves the rating of 3.5 stars, no doubt. I recommend it to anyone who likes platforming Shoot 'em ups.

I sure learned a lot from making this, being my first side-scrolling shooter game. Platforming was a key thing to get right, straight away.

My entire plan from the start was to make a game completely focused on a generic retro boss fight (I didn't like the theme for Ludum Dare, so I made up my own goal haha). Basically each time you play, you are jumping to another alternative universe in order to defeat all of the villain's plans. Pretty silly XD

I let the player decide what might have caused a particular universe to use guavas as a weapon, or why the villain might be collecting chocolate helicopter blades (for evil, obviously). But that's basically the story.

And it seems to be just you about the overpowered guavas, haha. All weapons have the exact same properties. I actually was fooling around with giving them different speeds, effects, and knockback, but in the end it was impossible to balance, and it made the game less enjoyable.

Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it! And it's true that the controls are probably the biggest factor in difficulty in this. Once you get those down, it's pretty easy to beat the boss. That's definitely a big reason why there are achievements, haha.

Zanz! You should add more maps, all random at start (or maybe you are the one to choose!), maybe more gun type thingies like a *twinkling star launcher* and *dorito chip gun* XD. I freaking love this game. If you don't add those, then get ready for my *mtn dew ghetto blaster*! Very addictive game, had some bugs but overall a great game.

The collision isn't perfect still, unfortunately. After I fixed a collision bug, I got too excited and ended up making weird places to get stuck in xD My bad!
