Reviews for "Shieldmaiden Part One"

this is some high quality stuff.
will part 2 only cum if you reach a certain amount on patreon

PiratePudding responds:

Thank you very much! :)

No, part two will come out whether patreon works or not.
However it will come out much quicker if I can get help from patreon and not have to look for other work so much.

Apparantelly... darkness brings forth a surge of demons like the world has never seen! Or something, ominous. The animation's great, sound's great, and as for plot so far... not much seems to be going on. I'm not yet sure if it's going to be violent at all or entirely comedic, with foes running away rather than doing battle, but it's presented in a both entertaining and exciting way and does make me look forward to seeing what more the next episode introduces. Nice work!

PiratePudding responds:

Thank you! :)

Yes, the viking believed the forests were the domain of dark and dangerous creatures, so it was not a good idea to go deep into it at night!

The trolls ran away for a reason, haha. Wait and see!
I'm going for a mix of violence and comedy so far, but since I'm the only animator (so far) I try to limit myself so as not to take three year to finish an episode....So no big fight choreography right now sorry. :)

I'm glad its finally here! Its easy enough to understand without any verbal dialog, the animation is smooth and the entire episode feels great! I enjoyed it and I'm glad to have finally seen it, but heres a review that might help you a bit (Or not).
I did have an issue with the throne scene in the great hall, I couldn't quite tell where anyone was looking other than the Jarl(?) (I think his wife was just zoning out, but hey I don't expect it to be perfect).
All said and done however, I do feel like the coloring/shading of the characters could be improved a bit, it could just be the contrast between them and the awesome backgrounds that are getting to me though.

PiratePudding responds:

Thank you very much! :) I'm happy you enjoyed it.

Well, the Jarl was looking at the crowd in the hall and they were looking at him, basically. And Yes the wife IS zoned out. she's booooored, haha.
The shading is a bit of a quandary. SInce I worked almost by myself on most of the episode, I had to make some choices. Either take even more time and add shadows to every single frame... or just add them where they set the mood and get on with the animation.

Oh well this one's gonna be big.

PiratePudding responds:

Thanks! ^^

Yes, the wait is finally over. and it did not disapoint

PiratePudding responds:

Thank you very much!
I'm sorry it took so long. The next part should be along faster, we've got a few major hiccups that should be easier to avoid now. :)
