Reviews for "Standoff"

I think this could be even better if it had multiplayer nice game.

Brilliant game. The atmosphere is really immersing, due both to the very well done animation and the jazzy soundtrack. The gameplay is also extremeley addicting, I'd just add that you perhaps could've gone for a higher difficulty, seeing as at a cetain point, reaching a higher score becomes a test of endurance. There is but a single change in pattern of the bosses, which makes them in fact easier than the minions, once you get the trick to beat them. The minions themselves also have no increase in difficulty at a certain point, I believe. Other than that, it looks like a great game to me.

Replying to the review made by user Reaplay, there is in fact a great advantage to shooting straight forward. In fact, shooting pressing down is useless except for the boss fights. The reason to this is that shooting forward is much faster. Often have I defeated the enemy by shooting him after he had attacked from the ground and gone out of bullets, because it takes such a long time to get to cover. There's also an opening both when you press down to attack straight from the ground and when you get back to cover after it, which, along with the long period it takes to get to the "ground stance", can be lethal.

Great graphics, but too hard. I played three times and I only scored one hit. Ever.

Haha. A nice game, but for a short time. I certainly love it's pixelated style of art, but the game certainly needs more revamp, like health powerups or gun, armor upgrades. I hope this suggestion is beneficial though...

P/s make some kind of storyline/ game modes to make this gameplay a little satysfying, but a good console-type game anyways...

I would have to say that "TheAdventMaster"s review says it perfectly in a well spoken and well worded way. The aesthetic is there, but the gameplay is missing something. Something fun. Without being too direct it becomes a chore to play fairly quickly, because as he mentioned in his review, there's basically no learning curve, no varying degree of difficulty, and all you're really left with is a nice looking game in which you're simply pressing down constantly for the sole reason of wanting to make it on the score list.

Side project, great. But I agree with the review below mine wholeheartedly.
