Reviews for "Top Down Game Demo"

This demo needs much work. There are issues when trying to start the game.
The medals work, and I earned them all.

DOTCreeper responds:

Yay!
I know there are main menu issues that is my fault... I put no loading screen...

This is indeed a horror game.
No wait!
This game is pure horror indeed.
Stop excusing and explaining, you didn't do a loading screen, your drawing skills are... pretty basic, "demo" is a ridiculous word for letting players go right, down, left - finish!
Please don't release anything again.

I think this was supposed to be a horror game, excuse me if I'm wrong, but this smiley face guy that I control who can walk upside down isn't really helping with the atmosphere. And all you have to do is walk around the wall. I have limited graphics skills as well, so I can understand how they can be a problem. However, horror games are all about the atmosphere, so graphics are very important. I think that you should pursue other genres of games, like side scrolling games or ones that don't need graphics as much. Sorry for the long review, but I hope you have better luck with other games!!!

DOTCreeper responds:

I wont be making anything but the game itself in the full game I am currently looking for graphic artists and then I can start game production!

I don't know how to start the game. I tired clicking "Start Game", use the arrow keys and everything but nothing is working.

DOTCreeper responds:

ok.. I gatta do this like elsa...
okay and a 1 2 3 4

Let it load! Let it Load! It takes time to unfold!

The point of a demo for a game is to demonstrate the concept for the game, without needing to fully develop the game. It seems you have spent too much time drawing graphics (badly), and adding things like music, but have failed to demonstrate a concept for your game (having a character that moves, and two things to interact with, with no story or points of reference, makes for an extremely poor offering). Your game doesn't even have a proper name!!

If you're trying to practice programming movement and interaction, then good - keep trying - but be aware submitting your practice runs is going to get you lots of hate, and make it difficult for you to find people to collaborate with. This really should have been posted on Dumping Grounds and shared in the forums - probably in Collaboration. Hopefully you can still do this (and withdraw this submission), thus saving yourself some grief.

Oh, and you might want to avoid EVER using these lines when submitting anything: "This is not the real game... not what the real game looks like... this is just an example of my game creation skills". General rule of thumb: if this is how you feel about your submission, then it is NOT READY for submission.
