Reviews for "Mark Of Darkness"

Overall nice game. A few suggestions:

1) Specialize some moves or categories for each class. Some move examples might be a throat cut for the assassin, triple shot (three arrows at one time) for the archer, or a shield block with counterattack for the warrior. Maybe even add a mage/wizard class. Specialized categories might warrior: samurai/swordsman/ axe wielder, etc. Specialized moves could be done for each class. Elemental Wizard, Necromancer, etc.

2.) Get more in depth on the storyline. There's action, but not really an overarching plot to the game. You had the one light vs. dark entity quest. Expand on that thought a little more. Some potential ones:
Unaligned Heroic Character: Rescuing villagers, protecting innocent, defeating some grand evil lord, etc. Doing good for good's own sake.
Aligned Heroic Character: Associates with a village/kingdom. Protector seeking to defeat evil as it tries to destroy his/her village chief.
Anti-Hero/Mercenary/Fame Seeker: Neither good or bad. Just wants to become powerful, rich, and famous.
Evil Path1: Goal become dictator of the world you've created. Opponents are good characters and the other evil characters the player seeks to one day conquer as well.
Evil Path2: Seeks power offered by the evil side, desires to rule but doesn't care to overthrow the game's ultimate evil.

3) Some of the mechanics need to be worked on. For one, I went into every location and house and could not find where the sword needed to be bought for the second village's quest after choosing the light path in the tower. Second, it took a while to realize why my character would walk backwards at random times (it depended on the mouse location in relevance to the character). That tidbit should have been in the tutorial. It would be nice to somehow know the characters locations for when a quest says pick up your reward from XYZ, but I haven't met XYZ to know where he is.

Again nice game overall. A few mechanic tweaks, more character customization, and a more developed plot would really take this game to the next level.

So where to begin...let's get the negatives out of the way.

The test at the beginning could not have been more bizarrely wrong. "I fight with strength and endurance, wade into battle cutting enemies in half, prefer to be in the front lines, my enemies are crushed beneath my big stompy boot..." "You are an Assassin!" "...okay I like stabbing people in the back in the night." "Oh why didn't you say so? You're an Archer!" "..."

Everything was very nice looking...except the walk cycle, which looked very bizarre. He looked like he was moonwalking wherever he went. Also, I have no idea why the dark golem was the only recolored version of an existing creature. Seems like every other creature in the game was unique, I don't really get why that would have been one texture too many?

Once you got out of the second zone, everything else felt unnecessary, like you're just doing stuff for the hell of it. What's more, it got grindy as all hell. The golem dust mission was bad enough, but the wolves and titans were somehow even worse because a good half of it was traipsing up and down the same bloody set of stairs hitting the same respawns to whittle down their mountains of health.

The promotion of the "premium" rewards was kind of obnoxious too. Yeah, you could get premium stuff...but why? The game is way too short to enjoy them thoroughly, and way too easy already.

There were definitely satisfying moments, to be sure. Getting the giant axe was the highlight--unfortunately, no other weapon the rest of the game was as cool-looking, and it was quickly obsolete. I liked fighting the orc invasion force, that was where the game really came alive.

All-in-all, functional, nice-looking, had a good amount of stuff, but it felt like it was trying to be a MMORPG-type experience, and squeeze a little bit of MMORPG-type real-life money for already abundant gold and uninteresting items for a game that isn't long enough for them to be worthwhile.

sometimes the tutorial just starts over at your town and if you press the load button your HUD will appear but the background won't

Mark Of Darkness are relay good I've play it and i know that,bat..can be better ,firs - there is few bags eg. Sam times wen you move to the different place, location, from town to the forest etc. it moves to tutorial place and this time you cant finish it,or just starts infinite lope.
Now suggestions for improvement there will very nice to have Sam think like alchemy were player can make more powerful ,potions ,weapons ,or armor with extra property's eg.haling or mama regeneration or getting enemy prey after it hits you.
As i said... it good bat... can became beater.

Runs perfectly fine. Especially on a MAC. Amazing game 4's in all categories 4.5 overall. Gave you a 5.
