Reviews for "Take Off"

Let me get the story (and if i am wrong, please answer me in PM, as i dont check the author's notes on the reviews.

She created the world (the pilars on the background at least), the man tried to grab her, she took it as an offense and they began fighting. When they ended she was sad because she actually meant that all that she created was going to be destroyed.

That (in case i was right) i get it, what i dont get is, instead of more of a confusion, more of a theory, if the man took his helmet off as a sign of admiration for the world around him, or because in her race, keeping the helmet meant a sign of unfriendliness.

What i DONT get, is what happened to her clothes, and why she hugged him, and mostly why did the planet saved itself.

Wait, i got another theory, the whole thing was about oxygen, wasn't it?

TaraGraphika responds:

I admire your enthusiasm in breaking the story inner message. I have to note it here for others to read as well. But I'll pm you a more linear answer for your curiosity.

*Hint*:
-Those pillars act as a defense mechanism.
-If I was to approach you with a mask and we were to meant to work together, wouldn't you feel somewhat, uncomfortable?
-The consequences are outstanding, but the reward is admirable...probably just enough to save someone...or something.
-Oxygen is just the chocolate sprinkles on my ice-cream. Not the whole lot. But it's important anyways.

Thank you for your review. This just get better and better.

a very great movie.
i fived this a few days ago when it was on judgement, but i forgot to review. i shall rectify this.

the start is pretty interesting, even a bit mysterious.... i see a planet like venus (or is it mercury?)
falling towards the sun, and there i see a man who encounters an alien with telekinetic abilities.
i suppose that she tried to ask him to do something, right?
because she tried to touch him at the start, but then the human tried to grab the alien, and they ended up fighting.
(great fighting sequences BTW, very fluent, and with a very good balance of action, and of good pace... EXCELLENT. i loved it that despite the aliens abilities, the human still had the persistance and the strength to overcome most of the obstacles in his way.)
then, the scene in the near-end was very touching. she got desperate, and she stopped acting, and then the human somehow understood, that all he had to do was to approach her and to remove his helmet? (please correct me if im wrong, i just try to understand it)
(also if he removes his helmet, doesnt that mean that he will die?)
and then, something odd happens. (i dont wanna spoil the ending)

overall, a good movie, showing the power of love and understanding, so in my view, its a wonderful movie, and in general, it was a visual masterpiece.
great movie, you should do more like this, and i would love to see a sequel in this adventure as well.

TaraGraphika responds:

Thank you for your wonderful review and the fived.

The story about where there are; what planet they are on are entirely fictional in the story. If you look closely, you could probably have a guess the planet they are on exist. Also, you probably would think why is the man there in the first place? For what reason? But that question would probably be answered later or sooner.
What she asked of him is hidden in the sign language. The struggle I had of interacting the characters was; How on earth could I make them understand one another without verbal usage and how could that make the audiences understand what they were on about? The simple gesture was made and you caught on pretty quickly what she had asked of him. Hint: * Look at the background*
The action scene need to be balance with what had come otherwise to the solution in the end. I needed to show the man's determination. Hence; persistence is a way to go.
The title says everything of the actions of the man...Is all I could say regarding the man how he finally understand the alien motif...despite the consequences.

Hope I given you a bit of a scope to their mystery entanglement. Again, Thank you very much for the compliments. Your review made my day:)

Woah, Tara, didn't know you were still around and making slick animations.

And I see you've broken away from your previous, more geometric style. I like this, it's very fluid and polished, keep it up man!

TaraGraphika responds:

Hello bigjonny13:)

Yeah, I'm not dead yet. I'm playing it loosely now with my drawings. Nice of you to drop by.
Thank for the compliment and have a nice day!

Great animation. The astronaut running and fighting was done very well. I don't really know why the description mentions procreation, I kinda just got the idea that their contact saved their lives and the planet. The nudity seemed uneeded, but I'm not complaining. As mentioned earlier by OdysseyTag, the sound effect really immerse you in the story.

Again, great animation.

TaraGraphika responds:

The nudity was an on and off idea I had. I wanted something to really express her will to accept him...raw. I guess I left it in because I thought it would make a giant impact or something.

Nice twist at the end - what I got from the video was that she needed help and because of communication difficulties, they ended up engaging in combat - save for the end when she expresses the gravity of the situation on her face (no pun intended*) as he is about to leave. I suppose I just picked up the just of it but regardless, it was a brilliantly designed sequence - it keeps you glued to your screen at all times and those sound effects - wow, really adds to the atmosphere. Really lovely piece of animation and thumbs up to the combat sequence :)

TaraGraphika responds:

Thank you for your review, you catch on the beats perfectly. Spot on:)

Really makes me happy. I'll make more interesting little sequences that'll really engage you with the next production I'll be making:)
